The Leatherback Sea Turtle (Dermochelys coriacea) is the biggest of all living turtles, reaching a length of over 2.7 m (8.8 ft) and weight of 900 kg (2,000 lb), and is the world's fourth largest reptile, behind the larger crocodiles. The Leatherback Sea Turtle is found in all tropical and subtropical oceans, and its range has been known to extend well into the Arctic Circle...Over 165 Leatherback Sea Turtles have came up to lay on the Laplaine beach over the month of may which is a record breaking number....and more and more have been coming up since..............so far only four have been Slaughtered under the police and forestry and wildlife offices nose..lol..and numerous eggs have been stolen....so far no one has been arrested or charged...
